Artículo 17. Control de Armas en Poder del Estado

La Dirección llevará un control estricto de las armas en poder del Estado y sus instituciones. Elaborará un inventario permanente de esas armas y enviará un informe anual a la Contraloría General de la República y a la Auditoría del Ministerio. Los informes remitidos, únicamente, podrán ser conocidos, cuando medie el interés público.

Article 17. Control of State Arms

The Armaments Directorate shall keep a strict control over arms held by the State and its institutions. It will keep the arms' inventory and it will send an annual report to the Comptroller General's Office and the Auditing Department of the Ministry of Public Security. The reports may only be made available in cases of public interest.
