La loi énonce en son article premier le principe de l'interdiction de l'importation, l'exportation, le commerce, l'entreposage, la cession, l'acquisition, la détention, le transport des armes et munitions, sauf celles relatives à l'usage des Forces de défense et de sécurité.

L'acquisition de certaines catégories d'armes et leurs munitions est possible après autorisation préalable délivrée à des personnes majeures et de bonne moralité n'ayant subi aucune condamnation.

En cas de non respect des dispositions légales et règlementaires, le tribunal ordonnera la confiscation des armes, munitions ou pièces détachées. Tout contrevenant sera puni conformément à la loi.

Les étrangers sont soumis à une double autorisation, leur pays d'origine et le Ministère de l'intérieur.

Article One of the Law provides the principle prohibiting the import, export, trade, stockpiling, transfer, acquisition, possession, transportation of firearms and ammunition except those used by the Defence and Security Forces.

The acquisition of certain categories of firearms and ammunition is possible after prior authorisation to adults of good morality and who have not been convicted.

In case of non-compliance with legal and regulatory provisions, the court shall order the confiscation of firearms, ammunition and spare parts. Any violation will be punished according to law.

Foreigners are subject to a double authorisation, their country of origin and the Ministry of the Interior.
