Au cours de l'année 2005, le gouvernement de la République, à travers le Haut Commissariat à la Réinsertion des Ex combattants, a initié un programme d'urgence de Démobilisation, Désarmement et Réinsertion (DDR).

Un autre projet dit de collecte d'armes pour le développement (PCAD) exécuté du mois de juin 2005 au mois de juin 2007, inscrit dans le cadre du Programme National de Désarmement, Démobilisation et Réinsertion a été mis en œuvre par le PNUD. Ce projet exécuté en deux phases (PCAD1 et PCAD2) a permis de collecter dans sa première phase 1.308 armes, 626.533 munitions et 2.383 engins explosifs.
La deuxième phase, en cours d'exécution depuis le mois de février 2008 vise essentiellement la collecte et la destruction de 3000 armes légères, 3000 explosifs, 60.000 munitions de gros calibre, 1.000.000 de cartouches dans certains départements du pays, notamment, Brazzaville, Pool, Niari, Bouenza, Plateau, Lékoumou et Cuvette.
Par ailleurs, grâce à l'appui des partenaires, notamment I'ONG britannique Mines Advisory Group (MAG), 77.049 munitions, dont 89 munitions sensibles et 264 armes ont été détruites en décembre 2007.
Cette opération s'est poursuivie en février 2008…

Another project called Collection of Firearms for Development (PCAD) performed from June 2005 to June 2007, registered under the National Programme for Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration, has been implemented by UNDP. This project, implemented in two phases (PCAD1 and PCAD2), allowed collecting in its first phase 1,308 firearms, 626,533 ammunition and 2,383 explosive devices.
The second phase, in progress since February 2008, essentially aims at collecting and destroying: 3,000 small arms, 3,000 explosives, 60,000 large-calibre ammunition, 1,000,000 cartridges, and this in certain departments of the country, including Brazzaville, Pool, Niari, Bouenza, Plateau, Lekoumou, and Cuvette.
Moreover, thanks to the support of partners, such as the NGO "Mines Advisory Group" (MAG), 77,049 ammunition, 89 sensitive ammunition and 264 firearms were destroyed in December 2007.
This operation continued in February 2008…
