Principal Provisions (Dispositions Principales)

Article 5 du D-L: «Nul ne peut importer, acquérir, détenir, fabriquer, réparer, céder, transiter ou exporter des armes à feu, armes blanches et engins spéciaux prohibés. Ces interdictions ne s'appliquent pas aux armes détenues par les membres des Forces Armées dans le cadre du service et conformément aux règlements militaires ».

Article 6 du Décret-Loi: « Le Commandant des Forces Armées peut, par décision motivée et publiée au Bulletin Officiel du Burundi, lever les interdictions portées à l'article précédent en faveur des particuliers qui justifient de raisons spéciales et fondées ».

Article 13 du Décret-Loi: « Toute personne qui entre en possession d'une arme doit être munie d'un permis de port d'armes valide ».

Article 5 of Decree-Law: "No person shall import, acquire, possess, manufacture, repair, transfer, transit or export prohibited firearms, knife and special equipment. These prohibitions do not apply to arms held by members of the Armed Forces in service and in accordance with military regulations."

Article 6 of Decree-Law: "The Commander of the Armed Forces may decide, by reasoned decision published in the Official Bulletin of Burundi, to lift the prohibitions laid in the preceding section for individuals that warrant special and justified reasons."

Article 13 of Decree-Law: "Anyone who comes into possession of an arm must be equipped with a valid permit to carry firearms."
