Au Burundi, les armes légères sont régies par le Décret-Loi no 1/091 du 2 Août 1971 portant régime des armes a feu et leurs munitions ainsi que par le Décret Présidentiel no 1/092 du 2 Août 1971 fixant les mesures d'exécution du Décret-Loi ci-haut indiqué.

Cette législation, devenue désuète dans certaines de ses dispositions va être actualisée pour la mettre en conformité avec les accords régionaux et internationaux en la matière.

3. Laws, Regulations and Administrative Procedures

In Burundi, small arms are governed by Decree-Law No. 1/091 of August 2, 1971, concerning the system of firearms and ammunition, and by Presidential Decree No. 1/092 of August 2, 1971, laying down the implementing measures of Decree-Law above mentioned.

This legislation, which became obsolete in some of its provisions, will be updated to achieve compliance with regional and international agreements on the subject.
