Inclusion in the Register of Information on Weapons and their Ammunition

Information on official and civilian weapons and their ammunition is included in the Register, in the cases specified above, on the basis of positive results obtained in certification tests conducted under the established procedure in Azerbaijan on the model of weapon and type of ammunition in question, and in the cases specified in the regulations, on the basis of the recognition under the established procedure in Azerbaijan of the results of certification testing of the model of weapon and type of ammunition in question.

The Agency accredits test laboratories to conduct certification tests to determine whether the models of weapon and types of ammunition meet the following requirements:

- Durability and safety of the weapon and ammunition and compliance with forensic requirements - with the authorization and participation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

- Compliance of the weapon and ammunition with medico-biological requirements, compliance of the ammunition with chemical testing requirements with respect to toxic substances and pharmacological compounds - with the authorization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the participation of the Ministry of Health.

[Editor's Note: After reviewing available legislation and other source documents, GunPolicy.org found no evidence of a provision in law to regulate this aspect of firearm policy. As some authorities enforce restrictions only in practice, the mere absence of a published legal provision should be treated with caution]
