En la Ley 1142 de 2007, artículos 38 y 55; la cual modifica la Ley 599 de 2000 (Código Penal), artículos 365 y 366, se tipifican delitos como la importación, el tráfico, la fabricación, el transporte, el almacenamiento, la distribución, la venta, el suministro, la reparación o porte de armas de fuego de defensa personal, de uso privativo de la Fuerza Pública, municiones o explosivos.

Ley 1119 de 2006, por la cual se actualizan los registros y permisos vencidos para el control al porte y tenencia de las armas de fuego.

The Law 1142 of 2007, Articles 38 and 55; which modifies the Law 599 of 2000 (Penal Code), Articles 365 and 366, define criminal activities regarding import, trafficking, manufacturing, transport, storage, distribution, sales, supply, reparing and carrying of government and civilian arms, ammunition and explosives.

The Law 1119 of 2006 contains the norms regarding registration and licensing on ownership and carrying of guns.
