General Prohibition

This chapter shall not apply to:

(1) law enforcement officers while engaged in official duty…;

(2) firearms which are in unserviceable condition and which are incapable of being fired or discharged and which are kept as curios, ornaments or for their historical significance or value;…

(4) persons in the Armed Forces of the United States…;

(5) persons designated from time to time by the Secretary of the Department of Justice, where such exemption is in the best interest of the National Government; provided, however, that the Secretary shall define the time, manner and purpose of the exemption, and limit the size and type of weapons which may be used by such persons.
