(ii) Zimbabwe does not manufacture SALW, therefore if anyone wants to manufacture weapons, special authority has to be obtained from the Minister of Home Affairs as authorized by the Firearms Act Chapter 10:09. This Ministerial authority is granted after the person conforms with certain requirements and conditions relating to manufacture, marking, handling, storage and disposal of firearms.

All weapons imported to Zimbabwe have the manufacturer's number and this is the one used as the mark on the firearm.

Information such as renewal, forfeiture to the state, loss through theft, misplacing or destructions by fire and subsequent recovery is updated on the gun card kept at Central Firearms Registry.
