Since the Programme of Action was established, Ireland has made a contribution of approximately €2 million in direct SALW projects. Ireland, as a member of the Human Security Network, supports a people-oriented approach to the issue of arms and has a long history of providing funding for Disarmament, Demobilisation, Reintegration and Rehabilitation (DDRR) Programmes.
