Article 44

Production of arms and ammunition, repair and modification of arms can be carried out by trade companies with headquarters in the Republic of Macedonia which prior to being entered into the trade registry will receive approval for the carrying out of that activity.

The approval from Paragraph 1 of this Article is issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, following the received opinion from the Ministry of Defence.
Under production of ammunition in the sense of Paragraph 1 of this Article it is also meant the refilling of the ammunition.

The repair of arms is considered to be the removal of defects of the arms and replacement or instalment of original parts for arms, and modification of arms is considered to be shortening of arms, adapting the arms for different ammunition, replacement or instalment of non-original main parts for arms and other actions by which the functional or technical characteristics of the arms are changed.
