A total of 2,462 cases of illegal firearm possession were recorded between 2012 and 2016, 572 were reported in 2012 and 448 in 2016.

The total number of confiscated firearms during this five-year period was 2,149, with a low of 273 recorded in 2015, and a high of 729 recorded in 2016. The total number of temporarily confiscated firearms was 2,703, which dropped in 2014 to 389, but peaked in 2016 at 901. (…)
