Gun control policy in Azerbaijan

(…) Azerbaijan's gun regulations have not evolved notably, and thus, bear significant resemblance to the ones in use during the Soviet period.

(…) Azerbaijan maintains an "extensive" gun control regulatory regime. One of the key legal instruments in the sphere of gun control in Azerbaijan is the Law on Civil and Service Arms (Xidməti və mülki silah haqqında qanun) adopted in 1997. The law sets forth major principles defining the rules for acquisition, possession, and use of firearms.

(…) the right to private gun ownership is not guaranteed by law.
