Art. 10a Verification by the transferor

Any person who transfers an arm or an essential component of an arm not requiring a licence to acquire arms (art. 10) must previously check the identity and age of the acquirer and require the person to present an official document.

The arm or essential component of an arm can only be transferred if the transferor can legitimately accept, in view of the circumstances, that none of the reasons for exclusion indicated in art. 8, para. 2 prevent the acquisition.

Art. 9a is applicable by analogy.

The transferor can enquire from the competent authority for the Canton of the acquirer's ordinary place of residence whether there are any reasons to prevent the acquisition. He must have the written agreement of the acquirer to do this.
