Action at the National Level

Illegal arms and ammunition arms which have been recovered are destroyed by the Ministry of National Security.

In 2002, over 1,430 illegal weapons seized over a number of years were destroyed. The last such exercise was conducted in July 2004 in which 10,132 guns were smelted.
