The Director of the Agency for Cultural Affairs shall register antique firearms, such as arquebuses that have value as objects of art or antiques, as well as swords that have value as objects of art.

2. The owner of a firearm or sword who seeks registration under the preceding paragraph (where the owner is not clear, the person in actual possession; hereinafter same) shall apply for registration according to procedures prescribed by Order of the Ministry of Education.

3. Registration under paragraph 1 shall be based on the judgment of a registration examiner.

4. Where a registration has occurred under paragraph 1, the Director of the Agency for Cultural Affairs shall promptly notify the Prefectural Public Safety Commission having jurisdiction over the address of the owner of the firearm or sword of said registration.
