Picard, Michael. 2019 ‘Requirements and Processes of Firearm Dealers in the Philippines.’ Survey of Firearm Dealers in Manila and Quezon City. Manila: GunPolicy.org. 19 February

Relevant contents

GunPolicy.org conducted a survey of 12 licensed firearm dealers and gun stores in Manila and Quezon in the Philippines.

The goal of the survey was to shed light on required dealer practices and other non-publicised aspects of Philippines firearm law.

Willing participants were asked about the licensing of sales, the importation process, record-keeping, storage requirements, sales restrictions, and other operational standards that all firearm dealers must comply to.

The surveyed dealers included a shooting range, a local representative of a major international supplier, a prominent local manufacturer, a dealer that catered to government personnel authorised to possess restricted firearms, parts dealers, and more.

These dealers were located in Araneta-Cubao, Camp Crame, and Makati. All requested anonymity.
