As part of the Mission to All Life Venezuela and Socialist Justice, this Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations (CICPC) of San Agustín, in Caracas, the director of the National Service for Disarmament (Senades), Delia Rondón, reported that to date more than 9,900 firearms weapons have been disabled.
"The SENADES (National Disarmament Service), so far this year has disabled 9,934 firearms, including the 200 weapons that were disabled today," said Delia Rondón, in the company of the National Deputy Director General, Johnny Salazar.
Rondón said that the SENADES executes public policies throughout the national territory aimed at implementing the disarmament of weapons and ammunition, encouraging voluntary delivery and preventing illegal diversion.
He also said that these unused weapons will be subsequently sent to the General Directorate of Weapons and Explosives (Daex) for their destruction and smelting, "and with that ferrous material elaborate loops [steel reinforcing bars?] for the Great Housing Mission Venezuela (Gmvv)".
These initiatives that the SENADES implements promote a culture of peace and healthy coexistence in the prioritized communities of the country, as well as the reduction of crimes.
It should be noted that a total of 18,633 illegal firearms were disabled in 2017 throughout the country.
