In January 2015, the Ministry of Interior and Public Security together with Carabineros de Chile started a campaign to deliver voluntary and anonymous arms and ammunition and a telephone number is also implemented for free calls (800 37 77 07), available for anyone who requires more information.

In November 2015, the Ministry of Interior and Public Safety relaunched the campaign because of the positive results obtained. At 2015, 9,413 weapons were seized, equivalent to an increase of 56.8% over 2014.
