Operation Autour commenced in 2016 and was undertaken by the Firearms Policy and Recording Section. Operation Autour focused on compliance by gun owners in the NT.

In the three months that Operation Autour has been operating 1 786 firearms have been either registered or identified as transferred interstate. To date 135 firearms, a significant amount of ammunition and 16 imitation firearms have been seized.
