Ce texte a été amendé par les textes ultérieurs, notamment par le décret n°62-2 du 8 janvier 1962 et le décret n°95-011 du 19 avril 1995.

Toute personne convaincue d'avoir, contrairement aux dispositions du présent décret, importé, détenu ou vendu des armes prohibées ou leurs munitions est punie d'une amende de 1000 à 2000 francs et d'un emprisonnement de trois (03) mois à un (01) an, ou l'une de ces deux peines seulement.

La tentation d'importation est punie comme l'importation. Toutes infractions aux autres dispositions du présent décret sont punies d'une amende de 500 à 2000 francs et d'un emprisonnement d'un (01) à six (06) mois ou de l'une de ces deux peines seulement.

En cas de récidive, la peine peut être portée au double. Toute condamnation prononcée par application du présent décret entraine la confiscation des armes et munitions, objet de l'infraction (article 23).

This text was amended by subsequent texts, including the Decree No. 62-2 of January 8, 1962, and Decree No. 95-011 of April 19, 1995.

Anyone convicted of importing, holding or selling, against provisions of this Decree, prohibited firearms or their ammunition, is punishable with a fine of 1,000 to 2,000 francs and a prison term of three (3) months to one (1) year, or only one of these penalties.

An attempted import is punishable as for an import . All offences to other provisions of this Decree are punishable with a fine of 500 to 2,000 francs and a prison term of one (1) to six (6) months, or only one of these penalties.

In case of recidivism, the penalty may be doubled. Any sentence pronounced under this Decree leads to the confiscation of firearms and ammunition involved in the offence (Article 23).
