4. Computerization of the central registry and creation of data bases
In order to ensure the availability of information on weapons, and to ensure that weapons records (data bases) are capable of responding to requests, we have begun to create supplementary data bases on weapons. We have also begun to computerize data on weapons for the country as a whole and to create a central registry. We are currently working on the task of linking the several states together in a central registry network to enable close data follow-up and updating. In addition, we are linking the central weapons registry to criminal records and other relevant data bases.
