Byrne, A. 1996 ‘Unsworth Gloomy on Summit.’ Sydney Morning Herald. Sydney: Fairfax Media. 3 May
Nine years ago the then NSW Premier, Mr Barrie Unsworth, stormed out of a special "gun summit" of State ministers chaired by the then Prime Minister, Mr Bob Hawke, angrily declaring:
"It will take a massacre in Tasmania before we get gun law reform in Australia."
He was shaken when reminded of this by a reporter after the Port Arthur massacre.
