Section 16. Permission to sell or dispose of firearm

(1) No person, other than a firearms dealer,1 shall sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm to any other person in the Territory except before such sale or disposal is effected, he applies for and obtains in writing the permission of the Licensing Authority to sell or dispose of the firearm, and, within 14 days after such sale or disposition, he notifies the Licensing Authority thereof in writing.

(2) Every person applying to the Licensing Authority for permission to sell or dispose of a firearm shall make such application in writing and shall specify the description of the firearm and the name and address of the person proposing to acquire the same.

(3) Every person contravening the provisions of this section shall be guilty of an offence against this Ordinance, and on summary conviction be liable to a penalty not exceeding five hundred dollars.
