Les demandes d'autorisation ou de renouvellement d'autorisation d'acquisition et de détention d'armes, de munitions ou de leurs éléments accompagnées des pièces justificatives nécessaires sont transmises pour décision au préfet du lieu de domicile ou, pour les personnes ne possédant pas la nationalité française, du lieu de leur résidence.

Article R. 312-3

Authorisation requests, or requests for the renewal of an authorisation to acquire and possess firearms, ammunition and their components, along with the necessary supporting documents, are submitted for decision to the Prefect of the place of domicile or, for individuals who are not French nationals, their place of habitual residence.
