Article R. 315-5

Le ministre de l'intérieur peut autoriser par arrêté toute personne exposée à des risques exceptionnels d'atteinte à sa vie, sur sa demande, à porter et transporter une arme de poing ainsi que les munitions correspondantes dans les limites fixées au 1° de l'article R. 312-47.1

L'autorisation, délivrée pour une période qui ne peut excéder un an, est renouvelable. Elle peut être retirée à tout moment.

Le préfet du département du domicile du titulaire de cette autorisation de port d'arme lui délivre, sur présentation du certificat médical mentionné à l'article R. 312-4,2 l'autorisation d'acquérir et de détenir, pour la même durée, l'arme de poing et, dans les limites prévues au 1° de l'article R. 312-47, les munitions correspondantes. En cas de retrait ou de non-renouvellement de l'autorisation de port d'arme, l'autorisation d'acquisition et de détention d'arme devient aussitôt caduque. Son titulaire se dessaisit alors de l'arme et des munitions selon les modalités prévues aux articles R. 312-74 et R. 312-75.

Article R. 315-5

The Minister of the Interior may authorise by order, any individual exposed to exceptional risks of harm to his life, upon his request, to carry and transport a handgun, as well as the corresponding ammunition within limits set in 1° of Article R. 312-47.1

The authorisation, issued for a period not exceeding one year, is renewable. It may be withdrawn at any time.

The Prefect of the district of the place of residence of the holder of this authorisation to carry firearms issues, upon presentation of a medical certificate referred to in Article R. 312-4,2 the authorisation to purchase and to possess, for the same period of time, the handgun and, within the limits set in 1° of Article 312-47, the corresponding ammunition. In case of withdrawal or of non-renewal of the authorisation to carry firearms, the authorisation to purchase and to possess firearms becomes null and void. Its holder must surrender the firearm and ammunition under conditions defined in Articles R. 312-74 and R. 312-75.
