Las armas de guerra que el Estado de Nicaragua posea o adquiera, deben de tener grabado en uno de los costados y de forma visible, el escudo de la República de Nicaragua con la leyenda, "REPUBLICA DE NICARAGUA", año de fabricación, número de serie, nombre de la Institución a la que pertenecen, país de origen y las especificaciones que la caracterizan técnicamente y que le distinguen con las demás armas o que puedan constituir medios de identificación.

Article 138. Firearm Marking and Identification

Weapons of war that are owned and acquired by the State of Nicaragua must have engraved on one side of the frame, in a visible manner, the coat of arms of the Republic of Nicaragua with the legend "REPUBLIC OF NICARAGUA", the year of manufacture, serial number, name of the institution to which they belong, country of origin and technical specifications that characterise and distinguish the item with other firearms or constitute means of identification.
