Articulo 44. Requisitos

Para la expedición de una licencia para portar arma de fuego, el interesado deberá cumplir los mismos requisitos que para la obtención de un certificado de tenencia de arma de fuego, salvo el de la edad que debe ser veintiún años. Además, deberá presentar una prueba de campo o certificación expedida por instructor idóneo o polígono de tiro autorizado que acredite que el interesado está debidamente capacitado para el uso de armas de fuego para uso defensivo.

Las personas que requieran renovar sus licencias para portar armas de fuego o certificaciones de registro de armas de fuego deberán presentar, junto con la correspondiente solicitud, comprobantes de polígonos de tiro comerciales u oficiales o de asociaciones o clubes dedicados a la práctica de la disciplina de tiro, mediante los cuales se acredite que el solicitante ha invertido, por lo menos, seis horas anuales en prácticas controladas de tiro con sus armas de fuego.

Article 44. Requirements - Carry

In order to issue a licence to carry firearms, the applicant must comply with the same requirements as those for obtaining a firearm possession certificate, except for the minimum age which must be twenty-one years. In addition, the applicant must submit a proof of a field test or a certificate issued by a qualified instructor or by an authorised shooting club, which certifies that the applicant is properly trained to use firearms for defensive use.

Individuals wishing to renew their licence to carry firearms or firearm registration certificate must submit, attached to the corresponding application form, proof from authorised or official shooting clubs, or from associations or clubs dedicated to practice shooting, certifying that the applicant has done at least six hours per year of controlled practice shooting with their firearms.
