Artículo 6. Lugares Prohibidos

Article 6. Prohibited Places

No one may carry firearms outside places indicated in article 51 without a permit issued by the authorities listed in article 4,2 who may grant it in specific cases and pursuant to a founded decision, in accordance with requirements and modalities established by the General Directorate of National Mobilisation.

The permit shall last one year maximum and shall only authorise its beneficiary to carry one firearm. Such authorisations shall be registered in the National Firearm Register.

The personnel listed in the fourth paragraph of article 3 shall be exempted from this permit, notwithstanding what is established in the respective institutional regulation. Moreover, aspiring applicants to the Carabinier forces and aspiring applicants to the Investigation Police units, in their third year of training, shall also be exempted from this permit in the course of their police duties.

Athletes, hunters and private security staff who are authorised by the control authority and who comply with requirements listed in the regulation are also exempted [from this permit]. Those individuals wishing to register themselves as hunters shall possess a hunting permit issued by the Agriculture and Livestock Service; those wishing to register as athletes shall be duly registered as members of clubs affiliated to federations whose members use firearms as sports equipment.
These authorisations are not permits to carry firearms and shall only allow transport and use of firearms in the indicated activities.

The General Directorate of National Mobilisation shall monitor the registrations referred to in article 5, and shall inform the competent authorities, mentioned in paragraph three of article 4, of any unlawful registrations, for their immediate correction.

The General Directorate and authorities referred to in the previous paragraph may, pursuant to a founded decision, deny, suspend, limit or impose conditions to authorisations required by this Act.
