El Artículo 109 de la nueva Ley de Armas, se había establecido un período de gracia de 1 (un) año, a partir de los 6 meses de la vigencia de la misma, durante el cual no se aplicaron las sanciones administrativas previstas en esta Ley, a favor de los tenedores y poseedores de armas de fuego, como así también para quienes no tuvieran aun registrados estos materiales ante la autoridad competente. El período de gracia señalado se extendió desde febrero de 2011 a febrero de 2012 y mediante una profusa campaña de difusión, promovida por el Grupo Interinstitucional de Armas, se lograron resultados auspiciases. Así, la cantidad de armas registradas en el año 2011 fue de 25.976, que comparada con la cantidad registrada en el año 2010 (15.088) tuvo un notable incremento.

Asimismo, ya desde el periodo 2010-2011 se iniciaron los trabajos tendientes a la reglamentación de articulos de la nueva Ley Así, en ese período se emitió la Resolución 268/10 que reglamenta el Articulo 45 de la mencionada Ley, que prohibe la importación de explosivos por personas fisicas o jurídicas, siendo la autoridad competente la que reglamenta la compra, venta, transporte y almacenamiento de explosivos, sus accesorios y afines de uso civil.

Registered Firearms

Article 109 of the new Firearms Act established a grace period of 1 (one) year starting 6 months after the date of its entry into force, during which the administrative penalties mentioned in this Act would not be applied, in favor of owners and holders of firearms, as well as to those who had not registered these materials with the competent authority. The grace period was extended from February 2011 to February 2012 and during a publicity campaign sponsored by the Interagency Group on Firearms, positive results were achieved. The number of firearms registered in 2011 was 25,976, a significant increase compared to the number recorded in 2010 (15,088).

Also, during 2010-2011, the work aiming to regulate articles of the new Act was initiated. Thus, in this period of time, the Resolution 268/10 was issued to regulate Article 45 of the aforementioned Act, prohibiting the import of explosives by individuals or legal persons, being the competent authority that regulates the purchase, sale, transport and storage of explosives, their related accessories, for civilian use.
