Prácticas Nacionales de Marcación

6 - En cuanto a las prácticas nacionales de marcación, conforme las recomendaciones del párrafo 31 b) del Instrumento Internacional de Localización, se informa:

La Circular SMA 001/RNA-E/07 dispone en su artículo 4 lo siguiente:
"El marcaje de las armas de fuego y otros materiales relacionados usará símbolos geométricos, código numérico o alfanumérico, o una combinación de ellos, y contendrá:

a) el nombre del país o lugar de fabricación (productor),
b) nombre del fabricante,
c) número de serie y marca comercial,
d) año de producción,
e) tipo, calibre y modelo de arma,
f) país importador y año de importación,
g) nombre del importador,
h) nombre o sigla, y escudo de la institución oficial, cuando corresponda.

El Servicio de Material y Armamento establecerá los signos que identificarán las menciones de los literales f), g) y h).

En todos los casos, cuando el país importador sea la República Oriental del Uruguay el código de "país importador" será la combinación de letras UY (vocal "u" y consonante "ye" o "i griega", ambas en mayúsculas)"

National Marking Practices

6 - With regard to national marking practices, in accordance with the recommendations contained in paragraph 31 (b) of the International Tracing Instrument, we wish to state the following:

Article 4 of Circular SMA 001/RNA-E/07 states the following: "Firearms and other related materials shall be marked using geometric symbols, numeric or alphanumeric code, or a combination of both, containing:
(a) the country or place of manufacture (producer);
(b) the name of the manufacturer;
(c) the serial number and trademark;
(d) the year of manufacture;
(e) the weapon type, calibre and model;
(f) the country of import and year of import;
(g) the name of the importer;
(h) the name or acronym and coat of arms of the official institution, where applicable.

The Material and Weapons Service shall establish the signs identifying the types of information mentioned in paragraphs (f), (g) and (h).

In all cases, if the country of import is the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, the 'country of import' code shall be the combination of letters UY (the vowel 'u' and consonant 'y', both in upper case)."
