Gun Licence Renewals or Transfers to be Screened

All firearm licence transfers and renewals will go through a stringent screening process consistent with the Firearms Act chapter 310, police Commissioner Gari Baki announced yesterday while reaffirming the constabulary's commitment to tackle crime in the country.

Mr Baki, who is also the registrar of firearms, said gun holders wishing to renew or transfer their firearm licences, especially handguns and pistols to new owners, would have to conform to Government policies and regulations under the Firearms Act.
