BISHKEK – Authorities in southern Kyrgyzstan detained and prosecuted 12 suspected organised-crime ring members in the first two months of 2014, the Interior Ministry (MVD) said in a statement March 12.

BISHKEK – Kyrgyz lawmakers June 19 reviewed the third reading of a bill that would bar citizens from carrying guns while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs, the parliamentary press office said. Bills require parliamentary approval in three readings before they may reach the president.
