An armed burglary went wrong at Raviz Indian restaurant in the early hours of Wednesday morning and is now being treated as attempted murder. Police said yesterday that three employees were in the Avarua restaurant around 2.30am when two offenders — one carrying a lump of wood and the other a 12-gauge shotgun — attempted to rip the cash register from the restaurant bar. Cook Islands police holding a former Aucklander who shot three locals on the remote atoll of Pukapuka in the northern Cooks have not disclosed his motives. RAROTONGA — Another murder has occurred in the Cook Islands, four months after a woman was found dead in her home. Police are treating the discovery of a deceased male body on the Rarotonga Golf Course in Nikao yesterday morning as' suspicious.'
