Zastava Oruzje, a Serbian weapons maker, made $17 million of sales abroad in 2010 and expects the figure to rise 30 percent this year as a result of contracts to sell sniper rifles to Jordan and Indonesia, Blic reported, citing General Manager Rade Gromovic.

Jordan has given automatic rifles, machine guns and ammunition and 150 armored personnel carriers (APCs) to the new Iraqi Army, and is considering a request from Baghdad to donate 50 tanks, according to Jordanian official sources.

Two Jordanians, one a U.S. citizen living in Mason, are charged by the federal government of buying 470 handguns from a North College Hill store and shipping them to Jordan.
Atallah Adwani, 45, of Mason, and Samaan Elias Hattar were indicted late Thursday by a federal grand jury sitting in Cincinnati.
They are accused of buying the guns between 1995 and 1998 and illegally shipping them to Jordan, where they were resold.

New Law Places Restrictions on Firearms Use

AMMAN, Petra — A Royal Decree was issued on Monday endorsing the provisional revised law on firearms and ammunition, which was recently approved by the Cabinet. According to the revised law, the Cabinet will specify areas where holding and possessing firearms is governed by the written approval of the interior minister. The new law strictly prohibits the firing of a weapon without a valid justification.
