Polinesia Francesa: la legislación sobre el control de armas de fuego se basa en el derecho francés. ODS 16

Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) son 17 objetivos establecidos por las Naciones Unidas para ser implementados por todos los estados miembros antes del 2030. Adoptados en 2015, definen una visión de desarrollo en la que la paz y la seguridad forman parte integral. El ODS 16,156 que busca "promover sociedades pacíficas e inclusivas para el desarrollo sostenible", incluye objetivos e indicadores centrados en la reducción de la violencia (Meta 16.1) y la proliferación de armas ilícitas (Meta 16.4). Los indicadores, o criterios de medición, de estos objetivos incluyen la cantidad de víctimas de homicidio intencional (Indicador 16.1.1), la cantidad de muertes relacionadas con conflictos (Indicador 16.1.2) y la cantidad de armas de fuego ilícitas recolectadas y rastreadas (Indicador 16.4.2). En linea con estos objetivos e indicadores, GunPolicy.org proporciona datos nacionales minuciosos o granulares relacionados con homicidios, homicidios con armas de fuego, muertes por conflictos, iniciativas de desarme, así como marcaje y rastreo de armas de fuego.
