Four-Year-Old Detroit Girl Shoots Playmate Dead

A four-year-old girl accidentally shot dead a little boy she was playing with at a house.
Police captain Rodney Cox said the shooting happened yesterday when the girl, the four-year-old victim and a five year old were playing in a bedroom and found the gun.

Firearms Smuggling Attempt Foiled in Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH - Border Guards in the Addayer area of Jazan foiled an attempt to smuggle firearms and ammunition through Saudi-Yemeni borders, but were unable to catch the smugglers, who fled toward Yemen's borders.
"They left what they were carrying and fled back to where they came from," said Gen. Abdulaziz Al-Subhi, Jazan's Border Guard commander.
He said the smugglers were spotted by a patrol that prevented the smuggling of 118 pistols and 235 magazines.

Russian Arms Trafficking Ring Raided

MOSCOW – Russian security officers have seized a cache of weapons and arrested 15 people suspected of trafficking in small arms, the Interior Ministry said on its website Friday.
The group allegedly smuggled the weapons into Russia by car from the Baltic countries for delivery to the Moscow Region.

Prosecutors are set to charge four people with ties to the illegal import of weapons, believed to hail from the Balkans, following a raid on a delivery van in Gothenburg carried out earlier in the week.
Prosecutor Thomas Eliasson told Sveriges Radio (SR) on Friday that the weapons probably come from the Balkans and their intended recipients were likely members of organized crime gangs in the western port city of Gothenburg.

A freedom of information request by the News revealed the figures, although police refused to lift the lid on how many illegal weapons had been confiscated in the past decade.
