ROME - The murder cases registered in Italy last year marked the record low since the republic was founded some 150 years ago, which experts said was an evidence that the economic crisis does not foster extreme violence when the nation-state is perceived as strong. Dunedin's West Harbour community is in shock after two children were seemingly shot dead by a man who had protection orders against him. Bradley and Ellen Livingstone, aged nine and six, died from gunshot wounds at their home in St Leonards on Wednesday night.
