Spouses' permission and tougher documentation requirements are among measures that should be added to the state's gun licensing system, says the leader of Tasmania's anti-gun lobby. "I would like to see [applicants] get the consent of their spouse before they can get a gun licence," Tasmanian lawyer Roland Browne said. Criminals are assembling illegal weapons in backyard firearm factories after importing them piece-by-piece over the internet.
