Someone is clearly failing in their job when police sources admit that there could be up to 100,000 illegal firearms in Jakarta. There is something even more seriously wrong when supposedly sane gentlemen can so easily pull out guns and threaten and shoot people who pose absolutely no threat to their safety.
Several cases in recent months have highlighted once again the emerging danger of the use of guns — legal and illegal.

South Shore isn't the rural area it used to be. Even in the less-populated communities, people need to be more conscious of being good neighbors than they have ever been.
The random firing of guns to celebrate holidays, and sometimes on weekends, too, "just for fun" is a long-standing tradition in some areas of Ruskin and Wimauma. But on New Year's Eve, one of those stray bullets almost hit innocent neighbors.

Civilians Surrender Over 1,200 Firearms

At least 1,233 firearms and 1,086 Akm rifle loaders were voluntarily surrendered by civilians in Angola's central Huambo province in 2004, to the local headquarters of the National Police.
The information is contained in a note released to Angop by the Police Command that says that another 35 AK-Czech, 19 Pkm, 14 grenade launchers, tree mini-uzi and 59 RPK, were surrendered.
