Conventional Arms Cut Office to Be Set Up

TOKYO — The Foreign Ministry will set up an office April 1 to promote conventional weapons disarmament abroad by encouraging demining operations and collection of small arms, government sources said Sunday.
The tentatively called conventional weapons office with six to seven members will deal only with conventional arms and not weapons of mass destruction namely nuclear, biological and chemical arms, the sources said.
