Transport Secretary Favours Stun Guns for Pilots

WASHINGTON — Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta opposes demands by commercial pilots that they be given firearms to defend the cockpit against hijackers, but would support nonlethal weapons like stun guns, the Transportation Department said on Saturday.
An agency official told Reuters that Mineta personally favored stun guns over handguns if the user was properly trained, but the Bush administration had not made any decision on whether to permit either aboard... (GunPolicy.org)
