Rendell Looking at New Strategy vs. Gun Makers

Negotiations with the gun industry have all but collapsed, and Mayor Rendell is embracing a new strategy to curb firearm violence: dozens of cities filing lawsuits simultaneously against the nation's gun makers.
Under Rendell's plan, each city would develop its own suit based on local laws and its own unique circumstances. The nation's mayors are expected to take up the issue at a U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Washington from Jan. 27 to 29.
