Firearms Possession in Uruguay

The current senator and former economy minister of the Frente Amplio, Mario Bergara, has come up with a proposal to make firearms possession more regulated and demanding than it is at present.
Government sources consulted by El País said in general terms that they wanted to study the main points of Bergara's proposal more closely, but hinted that it would be difficult for the ruling party to accept the opposition senator's idea.
