US Gun Control Groups Faulted as Surgeon General Nomination Falters

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has indefinitely put off a vote on Vivek Murthy's nomination to be surgeon general in part because he did not get help he sought from gun control groups, leadership aides said.
Murthy's nomination came under fire in late February by the National Rifle Association. The NRA attacked him for leading a group, Doctors for America, which cited medical grounds for backing an assault weapons [sic] and steps like mandatory training... (GunPolicy.org)
