MONTREAL - Police in Laval, Quebec, north of Montreal, have filed a $2-million lawsuit against a man acquitted in the shooting death of one of their officers. Basil Parasiris was the first Canadian ever cleared of a murder charge in the death of a police officer. Det.-Sgt. Daniel Tessier was killed during a botched raid at Parasiris' south-shore home in March 2007. A jury later acquitted Parasiris of first-degree murder, accepting his claim that he had fired in...
