The mish-mash verdict that came out of the Brooklyn case against handgun manufacturers threw off one clear signal: The jury didn't like gun makers selling their wares to dealers who don't operate from fixed premises, who'd rather deal informally at gun shows or out of their car trunks. Whatever it lacked in evidentiary rigor, it was a nice little pat on the head to Smith & Wesson and Sturm Ruger, which have policies of selling only to gun stores. That said, the jury...
