Lawyer Blames Gun Makers for Arms Glut, Deaths

NEW YORK — In an unprecedented trial against the gun industry, a lawyer blamed it Wednesday for the glut of weapons in the northeastern United States which end up in the hands of killers.
Attorney Elisa Barnes, who is representing plaintiffs whose family members have been killed or wounded in shootings, wants a jury to hold gun makers collectively liable for the deaths and injuries caused by their products, which she said are marketed in an irresponsible way.
