Right to Possess Firearms
Definition and Selection Criteria

The existence or otherwise of a legally guaranteed right to private gun possession for non-prohibited citizens.

Often referred to as a 'right to keep and bear arms,' no known constitutional guarantee of this type is absolute and unlimited. In all cases, firearm legislation enacted in the same jurisdiction limits the 'right' to that of a conditional privilege.
