Routine Arming of Police
Definition and Selection Criteria

Whether or not it is standard policy for sworn police officers on routine patrol to carry firearms on their person.

If only some police officers on patrol carry firearms, a proportion may be stated.

Where police on patrol do not routinely carry sidearms, but do keep them close at hand, for example in patrol vehicles, this may also be stated.
